COIL projects
Staff members at the University Centre for Foreign Languages (UCFL) at NCU have established a long-standing record of excellence in international online collaboration. With a documented history of COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) projects starting as early as 2018 and extending into 2026, UCFL utilizes this deep experience to act as a competence center (COIL Hub YUFE). By serving as a hub, we actively promote internationalization and the adoption of modern teaching methods.
Our Global Partner Network
We have cultivated enduring partnerships with prestigious institutions across the globe, facilitating projects with a broad international impact.
Key partners include:
- Masaryk University, Brno (Czech Republic): An extensive partnership involving student hybrid conferences (such as “Dialogue Across Borders” and “Comparative Legal Challenges”), international company law projects, and business podcasts.
- Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine): Collaborative projects centered on innovative products/services, marketing strategies (4P’s), and virtual language clubs for law enthusiasts focusing on EU and AI law.
- Ilia State University and Black Sea University (Georgia): Joint initiatives comparing economic realities between Poland and Georgia, as well as examining E-governance and AI within a legal context.
- Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Finland): Partnerships focused on entrepreneurship and the development of startups.
- Universidad Católica del Norte, Antofagasta (Chile): Participation in the “Global Collaborative Classroom” via the Copernicus Project.
Interdisciplinary Reach: More Than Just Languages
Aligned with the concept that COIL is not just for language learning, our initiatives span a wide array of academic disciplines. Our projects cover diverse topics such as:
- Law & Technology: AI and law, EU law, and international company law.
- Business & Marketing: Creating business podcasts, building startups, and the 4 P’s of marketing.
- Economics: Comparative studies of international economic landscapes.
These projects ensure that students gain more than just linguistic proficiency; they build the cultural competencies and digital skills required for the modern global workforce.
