Mission and Goals
Our mission at the University Centre for Foreign Languages is to provide dependable and professional language education to students of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń at the levels defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment. To support that mission, we employ diverse forms of teaching which comply with today’s educational standards and Council of Europe recommendations, and which address the needs of the University and the labour market. The Centre provides an environment that fosters the teaching and learning of foreign languages for academic and professional purposes. It promotes multilingualism and multiculturalism, facilitating our graduates’ future employment and professional mobility within both the university education sphere and the international job market.
The main goals of the University Centre for Foreign Languages are to:
- provide language education in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
- continuously enhance our foreign language curricula so that they support the mission of the Nicolaus Copernicus University, the needs of its students, and the changing demands of the labour market
- improve the qualifications, expertise, and skills of the Centre’s staff.
