TOLES

TOLES (Test of Legal English Skills) is an international exam that assesses proficiency in legal English. It is designed for people working in the legal environment, such as lawyers, law students, and legal professionals. The exam focuses on practical language skills needed in everyday work in the legal sector, such as reading and writing legal documents, legal correspondence, and knowledge of specialized vocabulary. The University Centre for Foreign Languages (UCFL) offers preparatory courses for TOLES exams.

TOLES is available at three levels:

TOLES Foundation – A2/B1 level

TOLES Higher – B1/B2 level

TOLES Advanced – B2/C1 level

The exam does not include a speaking section or purely grammar-based tasks; instead, it emphasizes the practical use of language in a legal context.
